Final Class Reflection5/3/2018 Thank you everyone so much for all the help this year. It was fun meeting new people and I enjoyed being in class. It was honestly my favorite english class and for the first time I feel like I actually got a good grade in an english class. Im proud of myself. To all the new friends I made thank you for helping me and teaching me when I was confused about something. All the activities we did were sop fun just like the one we did today. I felt all the dopamine. I hope my new friends and I have class together again someday. To Sabatino, Thank you for teaching me new things over our short semester. With all the school closing I wish they weren't just so I could go to your class. You kept me involved, focused, and determined the whole time. Doing all these blog posts just makes me want to keep blogging. It keeps people focused on my projects and everything organized. I can keep everything together and that helps me since i'm a mess with homework's.
Just want to conclude and say one more time thank you to everyone. I hope I see you in the future. Good luck with furthering your career. Sincecerelly, Barbie Carosi

Class Reflection4/24/2018 This class is honestly my favorite class out of all my classes. I actually learn and listen and understand everything in this class. I still have to redo my LCM and my Research Paper but I'm feeling good about this class. I also like how everyone is active and talking to each other. I feel like Ive made a couple new friends in here which I'm happy about too. Every class we do different actives and it helps me more doing activities then just sitting around taking notes all the time.
We don't always finish class on time but I don't mind because I'm interested in what Dr. Sabs talking about. Also, we can talk and give our opinions which is nice to know. My opinion on this class is great and I would recommend this class to other students in the future. Just because Sabs nice and helpful. Also, because his class is the bomb. Research Paper Process Reflection4/17/2018 This blog post is a reflection for my Research paper and how I wrote my paper and what I could have done better to make it better. While watching the Reflective Writing video I realized my way of writing my paper is very wrong. I will definitely make many revisions to my paper and resubmit it more.
My Mistake4/16/2018 Just wanted to inform everyone I had my whole intro and everything done to my Research paper page and when I went to delete the stuff I had to do it all deleted now I have to redo everything and i'm already so tired and i'm posting my research paper knowing that it is complete poop and i'm gonna post it just so I can get credit for it being up on time but I will definitely redo it at least 16382 more times because I know its so bad and i'm better than that. I just wanted everyone to know how my night was going and now I have go redo my whole research paper page wish me luck. I also know Dr. Sabatino is going to criticize my run on sentence but I just needed to get all my frustration out. hope everyone has a great rest of their night.
Annotated Bibliography4/9/2018 1. Source Entry: Where to Invade Next, Michael Moore, 2015
Link: Where to Invade Next In the documentary Where to Invade Next, Michael Moore visits different countries to try and find ideas that would help benefit the United States. He visits Italy, France, Finland, Slovenia, Germany, Portugal, Norway, Tunisia, and Iceland. They all give him some great things to bring back to the US, but he realizes that all the ideas that they gave him originally came from the US. I realized that most of the countries he visited did what they did just so they do not get sick. Unlike in American boss's do not care if your sick they just want you in their to work that way they can make more money. Michael Moore tries to bring back great ideas that he can use for United States. Michael Moore also realizes that all the ideas their giving him to bring back are originally from the United States. It is just happening better in different countries. He also is my main source for my research paper because he made me think about our situations over in the United States and how others are doing in different countries. There were many different topics I could have chosen but I chose "Should the American government Provide tuition-free undergraduate college education for all American citizens?" This source will help me defend myself in my research paper. 2. Source Entry: Pros and cons of tuition free college, Ellen Anderson, 2018 Link: Pros and Cons of tuition-free college On this website It discusses the pros and cons of tuition free colleges. It helps For my paper because I can think of how people can fight me on my decision and it can make me think of some of the stuff I might say so that I can defend myself. On this website I focused mainly on the pros for my paper and how it can help me defend my paper. I used this source twice just so I can focus on the pros first then go on to the cons. One Pro that really popped out to me was 'Student debt will no longer crush the younger generations." I will use this for my source because it will help me think of more ways and different ideas for the paper. This is my second source because I needed to see what is very good and bad for tuition free colleges. I thought it was just good but didn't realize there could be a bad part to get something that big for free. 3. This time I focused on the cons of free tuition college. One con that was very deep to me was "College might not seem as important." College. When i think of college I think old dudes, tough classes, and not being able to do what you want. I always though of a college as something big and important. People might not think a college diploma is very important. I can think of that while writing my paper. I used the cons as my third source because this can help me on what others might say against me. That way I have something ready to say back and i'm not caught off guard. 4. Source Entry: College Tuition and Student Debt, 2013 Link: College Tuition and Student Debt I used the library database to find this source. This website gave me many of things to think about and write in my paper. This website shows how someones income might change, how debt will change, and loans. It explains how they change and increase for others just for free tuition. The website shows how much money would be spent if we get free tuition. It would also help people not have debt until there 60. It has to be a ton of money to be in debt that long. Also, people have other things to pay for like car payments, kids, or a house. It already too much to worry about and adding on student debt makes it even harder. 5. Source Entry: Free, 2015 Link: Free I am using this source just to define what "Free" is. In the source is says "without payment, without obstruction." If its "free" is it actually free. When it says without payment it makes you happy until you get the bill for it. When its online and it says "free just pay for shipping and handling." When it says that they actually charge the price through the shipping and handling. It just wants you to go and look at stuff and like it by saying its free when its really not. Also, it can be part of an argument so i'm using it. Source Entry: This is college students biggest worry, Martha C. White, 2015 Link: This is college students biggest worry Stress is the biggest thing college students worry about in my opinion. School doesn't matter if you cant even pay to go there. This article explains why students struggle the most. it gives many statistics and stuff to help my research paper. In this article It shows the precent most college students are in after college. It also explains how money problems keep people up at night. Its sad because people should be getting to sleep throughout the night and not worrying all night long. Where to Invade Next? An Argument3/31/2018 While giving a summary of Where to Invade Next, In my Summary and Rhetorical Analysis of Where to Invade Next blog post I realized that Michael Moore had some great main points. In this blog post I will be picking three main topics throughout the documentary and writing a research question on each topic. 1. Topic: Education
Research Question: Should the American government provide tuition-free undergraduate college education for all American citizens? Argument: The American government should provide tuition-free undergraduate college education for all American Citizens because less people would be in debt for trying to get a high paying job and paying off the real world bills and would give more people less stress. 2. Topic: Drug usage Research Question: Should the American government eliminate all penalties for drug use? Argument: The American government should eliminate all penalties for drug use because people would not do them as much and would get sick of it over time and just end up not doing it anymore. Also, there would be less people in our jails and more room for real people who do worse things. 3. Topic: Womens power Research Question: How might America change if women gained more power in government, business, and education? Argument: If women gained more power in the government, business, and education their would be more long term effects the short term. Also, women think through more topics and think about others unlike how men just think about themselves. IIn the documentary Where to Invade Next, Michael Moore visits different countries to try and find ideas that would help benefit the United States. Ethos means Author and Michael Moore is the author. Throughout the whole film he is the author and explains the whole film his way. He also uses logos to explain in debt that what he's looking fro in each country and what he finds out. Logos means text and the text that Michael Moore gives us tells us information that we can see. Michael Moore appeals to pathos by entertaining us and by giving us information that makes us stay focused on what he's saying and making us want to hear more information we did not know. Pathos means audience and he connects with me very well and i keep wanting to hear more. Michael Moores telos is to inform us with the invormation taht other countries are better then us and they are using our own ideas.
This blog post will contain how I changed as a writer and how this year so far is going for me. Also, how I feel like i'm doing so far this semester. When the semester first started I was very nervous. My whole life I was never good at english or writing and never thought it would ever be my strong suit. Now, I feel like I actually understand and comprehend what Dr.Sabatino is saying. He is actually the first english teacher I can actually understand.
I define Composition as combining two or more communicative elements to make meaning. In this class we write so we can persuade, inform, or entertain. Ive learned that I can write about things that I like and not what I have to write about. Also, I feel like I have been improving in this class because I can actually understand and I know what i'm doing. Three primary English Compositions goals for the rest of this semester are to finishe my blog posts and do them on time, connect with my other classmates by commenting on their blog posts, and to listen and participate with the class. Life-Choice Memoir Process Reflection3/22/2018 While interrupting the Reflective Writing video I learned a lot about reflecting on my writing. Also, My in my Life-Choice Memoir I write about a life choice that was hard on me. These questions will explain in more depth about my Life-Choice Memoir.
In Hills like white elephants by Ernest Hemingway, two different people are trying to make a decision but they are also both trying to agree with one another. Weather she should stay with the guy or leave him. Or if she wants to stay in the relationship or leave it. The story starts with a man and a girl waiting for a train, sitting in a bar having beers. The whole story is confusing but, from what I understood from the conversations they were having, it seemed to be a high-tension situation. The man seems to be letting the girl know, once the operation is done everything will be "fine" and they can go back to being happy. The girl seems distracted to me, and doesn’t seem to agree with the man but lets him know she does. I believe he wants her to come with him even though she thinks its a bad idea. I think he is making her second guess herself. Making her feel like he will change if she does even though she knows deep down that he won't. He keeps asking if she wants to try beers I believe so that he can make her wanna come and see all the other beers wherever they're going around the world. She is just neutral I feel. She just keeps saying "I feel fine" even though I feel like she's in a situation she doesn't want to be in. She wants to leave I think and do what she wants and I don't think what she wants is to be leaving with him. I was once in her situation, in a relationship I didn't want to be in. It was in his school when everyone was trying to find the perfect guy and the perfect girl so everyone was dating. I had 3 girl friends I always used to hang out with and they funny thing is we hung out with the same 3 guys. long story short we all started dating each other. I dated this kid, I don't want to say his name but it will be Sean for this story. Sean and I always hung out when we were with the others never alone like a real relationship. We all made plans and all went out together. Sean would always say "I love you." and I would just sit their and say "I love you too." Even though I didn't mean it. we dated for about 6 months before I decided to cut the relationship, but didn't know hoe to do it. I though one thing would get rid of him for good, cheating. It was tenth period we were about to get out of class and I was roaming the hall their I met up with "Adam". Adam and I took couple laps around the school when then he took his lips and kissed me. I felt really bad but I had no idea how to get out of it. so I did it. Then the bells rang and we both went our separate way. I walked out of school and immediately texted Sean and said "I cheated." he said "oh my god why would you do thus I though you loved me." I just tried too make everything better but he then said "If you tell me who it was with I won't be mad and we can get through this." That made my heart sink. I told him "I can't tell you." since it was someone he knew I didn't want them to get into an altercation.
When it was facially over and done I found out Sean was so mad and upset from one of his friends. His friend told me "He was so heated he was ready to go out and kill someone." I was shocked he could act that way since u never seen that side of him before but, its now 3 years later and I still feel like the shit I felt like when it happened. I feel like such a awful person and I know cheating is never the way to do anything. Barbie CarosiI love dogs, softball, and naps. I could talk about those subjects for hours and never get bored. I have 2 dogs Tito and Smokey. I've played on 3 different softball teams and take as many naps as I can. In this blog you will find out how my mind works and my focus for my blogs. Archives
